The First-Hunt Academy

Never hunted before? That is exactly who we built this for.

Most outfitters expect you to arrive ready. We start at the beginning: safety, rifle handling and real confidence on the range — then a guided stalk with a professional hunter at your side.

01 · LEARN

Safety & fundamentals

Firearm safety, shot placement, wind and ethics — taught one-on-one before you ever step into the field.

02 · SHOOT

Range time to 1 km

Build consistency from the bench to field positions. Rifles and ammunition supplied — no firearm import needed.

03 · HUNT

Guided by a professional hunter

Walk-and-stalk on open veld with a registered PH, from first sighting through recovery, skinning and the story you take home.

Hunt packages

Questions first-time hunters ask

Yes. The First Hunt starts with safety and range training and only moves to the field once you and your professional hunter are confident. There is no pressure to take a shot.

No. Quality rifles, optics and ammunition are supplied, so there is no firearm import paperwork. Experienced hunters who prefer their own rifle can bring it and we assist with the South African temporary import permit.

Absolutely. Observers join at reduced rates and can enjoy the river, the range, nearby West Coast beaches and Cape Town day trips.

Meat is used at the lodge and by the farm. Trophies can be prepared, mounted and exported through our taxidermy partner on request.
